Good fortune
A restful corner need not transform the room. Make one place easier and calmer to use.

- Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.
STORY & REFLECTION
A chair ready for rest
Guidance-based illustration · A chair ready for rest
Illustrative scene: After work, someone wants to rest by the window, but clothes cover the chair. They end up scrolling on the bed and feel no more settled.
They clear only the chair, leave water and a book nearby, and sit without a reading target. The room is still imperfect, but one place is available for rest.
NIMH recommends setting priorities, making time for suitable relaxing activities, and noticing what has been accomplished. Self-care need not wait until every task is finished.
One usable place can matter more than an imagined perfect room.
