Fortune #43
Caution
The night before an exam can tempt you to cover every page. Staying awake may leave you less ready to think the next day. Review the highest-priority topics you can manage, then make room for sleep.

STORY & REFLECTION
The Traveler Who Slept Beside a Well
The Traveler and Fortune · Aesop's fable
A weary traveler in a fable falls asleep beside a deep well. Fortune wakes him before he can fall. The supernatural image asks what happens when exhaustion is ignored.
Not every mistake is solely a failure of personal care; circumstances and workload matter too. The story warns that once fatigue is clear, leaving safety to luck is a poor plan.
Before an exam, studying all night can leave you less able to recall what you know. The value of a few more pages needs to be weighed against being ready to think the next day.
Choose the most important topic you can still review, then set a time to stop and rest. If worry persists, write down what to check in the morning instead of reading through the night.
Reflection
More study time can cost readiness when sleep disappears.
A small action today
Stop adding new topics and plan adequate sleep.
A question to reflect on
What is worth reviewing tonight, and when will you stop to rest?
