Fortune #47
Caution
A ready-made answer may get one question done. Change the numbers or conditions, though, and you may be stuck; trace each step until you can explain why it works.

“การมั่นใจในสติปัญญาของตนเองมากเกินไปนั้นไม่ฉลาดนัก การตระหนักรู้ว่าผู้ที่แข็งแกร่งที่สุดก็อาจอ่อนแอลงได้ และผู้ที่ฉลาดที่สุดก็อาจผิดพลาดได้นั้นเป็นสิ่งที่ดี”

STORY & REFLECTION
The Fox Who Thought It Had the Whole Skill
The Lion and the Fox · Aesop's fable
In a fable, a fox finds prey while a lion catches it. After watching the results many times, the fox assumes it can perform the lion's part too.
It tries without having practiced that skill and runs into danger. The fable is far harsher than homework, but the gap between seeing an answer and producing it yourself is familiar.
A ready-made solution shows the destination. Without knowing why each step works, a changed question may leave you unable to begin. Familiarity with the answer is not yet a skill.
Close the solution and try a similar problem. If you pause, look only at the missing step, then explain that reason in your own words before continuing.
Reflection
An answer you cannot explain is not yet yours.
A small action today
Choose one answer and trace each reasoning step.
A question to reflect on
Could you solve it yourself if the conditions changed?
