Caution
In a lab, rushing can make you miss a safety instruction. Read the procedure and ask before handling unfamiliar equipment; pausing for safety is part of responsible learning.

STORY & REFLECTION
A Checklist That Lets a Team Pause
WHO · surgical safety
The World Health Organization published a surgical safety checklist for teams to review key information before, during, and after a procedure. Short prompts help people say aloud what needs checking.
A checklist does not replace skill, and surgery is not a classroom. One principle does transfer: work with risks needs a pause point so haste does not erase an essential step.
A school lab has equipment and materials that require care. Asking before using something unfamiliar can prevent a problem that is hard to fix afterward. Safety is part of learning.
Before handling unfamiliar equipment, read the procedure and show an unclear step to the instructor. Knowing when to stop and ask is as important as completing the experiment.
Reflection
Safety matters more than the pace of an experiment.
A small action today
