Caution
You may be pushing longer than your body should carry. Notice signs of fatigue and recharge before you are depleted. Rest now can prevent a longer stop later.

STORY & REFLECTION
Arianna Huffington stopped treating lost sleep as the price of success
Arianna Huffington · A turning point after exhaustion
On April 6, 2007, Arianna Huffington was working intensely to grow The Huffington Post while caring for her family. Severely sleep-deprived, she collapsed, struck her head on a desk, broke her cheekbone, and needed stitches. The event changed her question from “How can I accomplish more?” to whether success purchased with health should still be called success.
She visited several doctors while looking for an explanation, then accepted the central role of exhaustion and lost sleep. Huffington changed her routines, made sleep a priority, kept her phone outside the bedroom, and challenged the admiration given to burnout. She later wrote about rest and founded Thrive Global to promote ways of working that do not require destroying health.
The story does not claim that one night's sleep solves every work problem or that all fatigue has one cause. It exposes a harmful belief: people often wait for the body to force a stop before granting themselves rest. Earlier recovery returns resources to memory, judgment, and emotional regulation. Pausing is therefore part of responsible work, not a prize awarded after every task in the world is finished.
Set a clear stopping time tonight and move bedtime thirty minutes earlier. Turn off the screen and place unfinished work on paper with tomorrow's first step. If exhaustion persists or disrupts daily life, speak with a health professional. You do not have to prove commitment by working until you collapse. Caring for today's energy helps you remain present for what matters over the long term.
