STORY & REFLECTION
Values before saying yes
Guidance-based illustration · Values before saying yes
Illustrative scene: Someone is invited to several activities in one month. They want to help everywhere but have no time left for a family member who needs them.
They write that family time and adequate rest matter most now, accept one event, and politely decline another. There is still disappointment, but the choice has a reason.
WHO offers brief stress skills such as grounding, unhooking from difficult thoughts, and acting on one's values. These are self-help tools, not a replacement for needed support.
Values do not make every choice easy; they clarify its purpose.
