STORY & REFLECTION
The catering order beyond capacity
Guidance-based illustration · The catering order beyond capacity
Illustrative scene: A caterer takes another Friday job while the kitchen schedule is already full. Existing buyers still see their original delivery times, but staff know the oven and van are insufficient.
The owner closes that slot, checks production and routes, contacts affected buyers early, and offers a feasible menu or refund when needed.
The FTC says online sellers need a reasonable basis for promised shipping times and must address delays under applicable rules. Laws differ by place, while the practical promise still needs to fit real capacity.
Fulfillable sales are worth more than promises that must be repaired later.
