Fortune #14
Good fortune
You may feel unchanged even when you can solve something that once stopped you. Compare one old attempt with today's; concrete evidence can show both progress and the next gap.

QUOTE CARD
A quote for you

“คุณแทบจะโน้มน้าวให้คนคนหนึ่งเชื่อว่าสิ่งใดผิดพลาดไม่ได้เลยในชั่วชีวิต แต่คุณต้องพอใจกับการที่วิทยาศาสตร์ก้าวหน้าไปอย่างช้าๆ หากเขาไม่เชื่อ ลูกหลานของเขาอาจจะเชื่อก็ได้”

- You can hardly convince a man of an error in a lifetime, but must content yourself with the reflection that the progress of science is slow. If he is not convinced, his grandchildren may be.
STORY & REFLECTION
A Failed Prototype Still Gives Evidence
James Dyson · developing a vacuum cleaner
James Dyson built many prototypes while developing a vacuum cleaner. Many did not work as hoped, yet each could reveal a limitation to address in the next version.
The large number of prototypes is memorable. More useful is that he did not treat every failed version as the same failure; he looked for a specific reason to change the design.
Learning also needs small pieces of evidence. “I am still bad at this” is too broad. A question you can now solve without help, or a step you still miss, gives clearer direction.
Keep one old attempt and compare it with today's. Note what improved and what still needs work. One assignment does not measure your worth; it can guide your next practice.
Reflection
Progress is clearer in evidence than in mood alone.
A small action today
Note one question you can answer now but could not last week.
A question to reflect on
What can you do independently today that you could not do last week?
