STORY & REFLECTION
A gap left open
Guidance-based illustration · A gap left open
Illustrative scene: Someone fills every Saturday slot because an unplanned day feels wasted. By evening, they cancel family time that was never put on the calendar.
The next week, they leave an afternoon hour unassigned. When it arrives, they rest and later visit family without moving another appointment.
NIMH recommends setting priorities, making time for suitable relaxing activities, and noticing what has been accomplished. Self-care need not wait until every task is finished.
An open slot is room for real life, not a failed schedule.
Reflection

A small action today
Leave one short block unscheduled.
A question to reflect on
Which open slot gets filled simply because it exists?
