Caution
Overpromising may win one order while disappointing several buyers. State the scope and date the shop can actually deliver.

- Lasting change is a series of compromises. And compromise is alright, as long your values don't change.
STORY & REFLECTION
A promise beyond the production table
Guidance-based illustration · A promise beyond the production table
Illustrative scene: A favors shop is asked for two hundred custom pieces in three days. Sales nearly accepts, though the team makes forty a day and has existing orders waiting.
The owner counts capacity and the full queue, offers a smaller first delivery and a realistic date for the remainder, and states terms before payment. The team need not hide old work to win new work.
The FTC says online sellers need a reasonable basis for promised shipping times and must address delays under applicable rules. Laws differ by place, while the practical promise still needs to fit real capacity.
A promise kept leaves more room for future business than a yes that must be undone.
Reflection
An impossible promise creates lasting cost.
A small action today
Adjust the offer to capacity and state true terms.
A question to reflect on
Which offer would require breaking the existing queue?
